Meet Hank, my boxer and traveling companion. He's blind in one eye and can't see well out of the other so I don't get many complaints about my driving from him.
He doesn't mind me leaving him at home until he sees that suitcase and then he bullies his way out the door and will stand by the car looking all sad. I'm a sucker and fall for it every time so now I just take him with me.
So Hank and I are heading back to Kentucky. . . elderly neighbor that has lived across the alley from Poppa's since I moved into the neighborhood at 3 is not doing well. Actually, that's an understatement. . . she's leaving this world. . . and might be gone by the time I get there this afternoon. She didn't have anyone but a niece and nephew left but the other neighbors took care of her the best they could. Her family is really those few neighbors that have been there for the last 40 or 50 years. I feel as if I'm becoming calloused to death and dying.
I already had plans to go to Tennessee to see our oldest daughter and spend some time with her. I'm going on down there this coming weekend. She misses her mom since we moved away 3 years ago. So we're going to hang out and party together. I'll be in and out of here and some of my other favorites but probably not daily. I'll just have to grab a computer when I can...
I will return on the 24th, or thereabouts. . . God, I love this not working thing I got going. . .it's nice to be able to take off when I want or need to. Not having near enough money kinda puts a damper on the whole deal though. . .

Well, Critter is the one driving all over the place to visit the older crowd from the neighborhood we grew up in. I'm a little to far away to be able to do that.

She was working one night and some guy stiffed her on a bar tab (which comes out of her check)...she chased him down, hopped on his SUV as it was slowing, flung open the door and was about to drag him out of the vehicle when she realized it was a WOMAN driving...without glasses and being night she couldn't see and misjudged...

Pics are freaking me a bit. Like I'm not to sure where some are at. I saw most of the upstairs right after they finished it, but the only thing that was painted was the bath.
they also had NOT lowered any of the ceilings! AARRRGGGGGGGGG!
okay...I started by going upstairs...a bathroom, then pics of the two bedrooms...the little room you have to duck down to get in, it's over your room..
then Birdie going downstairs...the pantry she put windows in front of..thought that was COOL, it looked like big windows but opened to the pantry...then more of downstairs

But my favorite is Crown Royal, next to Uncle JoeBob's moon wine--which I can't get anymore
Uncle JoeBob made some awesome wine and moonshine...but he got in the habit of tasting his product too often and decided being drunk all the time was getting old...so he makes it no more..
In his wine he always added a little "shine"...you could SMELL it, it has it's own destinct smell if you hadn't ever had any moonshine...that was some kickass wine to put it mildly!
I love dogs and I can see that you do too. Even though Hank can't see he knows when you are going on a trip...smart doggy. Our doggy knew we were going by what we said to each other...then it would get excited and start begging us to go.
